Tug Cornell Returns to Oyster Bay for a Rain Soaked Festival

The Tug Cornell launched in 1949 at Jakobson Shipyard in Oyster Bay, New York, returned last weekend for the 26th annual Oyster Bay Oyster Festival.  Unfortunately the weather did not cooperate.  Heavy rains, temperatures in the 40s F, and wind gusts of up to 40 miles per hour reduced the expected quarter of a million visitors to a comparative handful.

The Tug Cornell recently raced in the 17th Annual North River Tugboat Challenge, placing a very respectable third.  Click here to see a video of the race.
